To provide our customers with healthy alternatives to traditional Mexican cuisine made from only the finest ingredients.

Company History
El Burrito began in 1980 as a humble little tortilleria inside of a grocery store called Mars Market, located in El Monte,
California. The small market, owned by Mark Roth and his wife Grace, served the Hispanic community in the area.
Known for their innovative product development, Mark and Grace decided that a neighborhood tortilleria was in order,
and put it into a portion of Mars Market that had once served as a gift shop.

Since then the company has expanded to include the original salsa recipe and the creation of delicious soy products
such as Soyrizo, SoyTaco, and Soy Breakfast Sausage.

Timeline
1980
El Burrito Food Products was founded by Mark and Grace Roth in El Monte, CA.  The original recipes for its famous
Red Salsa and Tortilla Masa are commercially packaged and sold at a Mars Market in El Monte, CA

1981
El Burrito opens a manufacturing facility in City of Industry, CA.

1981
El Burrito Food Products creates Soyrizo, a healthy take on traditional Chorizo

2005
El Burrito Food Products introduces SoyTaco, and receives recognition from PETA for Best Vegetarian Food Entrée for
Soyrizo and SoyTaco.

2007
El Burrito Food Products creates Soy Breakfast Sausage

2012
El Burrito Food Products is acquired by House Foods America Holding and
becomes El Burrito Mexican Food Products Corp.

2013
El Burrito introduces their Organic Soyrizo and Fire Roasted Salsa Casera line.
